APW - Illinois, Inter State Chronometer, 23J, 18S, nickel OF original case, white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, jeweled barrel, two-tone gilt and nickel damascene, gilt mvt screws and regulator assembly, s#2336457. A rare top grade private label, the total production of the 23 jewel 18 size Inter State Chronometer is believed to be only 250 made with all made in a single run spanning serial numbers 2336351 to 2336600. CONDITION:
Mvt: Running though with excess escapement noise in some positions, overhaul recommended, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, superb two-tone color and luster, small dark spot to foot of balance cock; dial with patch of mild abrasion left of center, some fine scratches at perimeter near 5, few small fine to micro-fine scratches elsewhere, minuscule pinpoint flake to inner corner of outer chapter adjacent seconds-register at 7; fine hands, hour with slight bend, seconds-hand is very slightly long; case shows light wear, ample tarnish throughout with some dark brown spots at upper left perimeter; bow pivots freely and has some verdigris to its upper rear, crown shows medium wear; glass crystal with some glue excess at its seat.
